CAP to Present Lewis Kemper Seminar

Save the Date...

CAP will host A Digital Day with Lewis Kemper, an all-day seminar, on Saturday, November 2, 2013. The seminar will be presented at the Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden, CT, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program is free and there will be an optional lunch available (price to be determined). This seminar is sponsored by Canon. Lewis Kemper is one of Canon's Explorers of Light.

Some of the topics to be covered include:
  • Getting the most out of your digital camera
  • Light and composition
  • Expanding the dynamic range of your images
  • Use of histogram and highlight
  • Custom white balance
  • HDR
  • Photoshop and Lightroom

Additional details will be posted on the CAP web site and e-mailed to the membership as we get closer to the time of the event. This program is a must for any level photographer working in today's digital world.

Tops in CT Presentation and Dinner

Save the date...

The spring meeting of the Connecticut Association of Photographers will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Hawthorne Inn in Berlin, CT. The program consists of two parts, a showing of the 102 electronic (digital) images and prints accepted during the judging of Tops in Connecticut 2012 on November 17, 2012, followed by dinner and awarding of the plaques for the winners of the best in show and category awards in both categories. The showing will be accompanied by a live narration describing the best qualities of each accepted image.

HDR Workshop at Grand Central

Join Lisa and Tom Cuchara for an HDR workshop at Grand Central Terminal in New York. The workshop will take place on Sunday, February 24, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tripods will be allowed for this workshop. The price for this workshop is $55 per person with a maximum of 10 participants.

In addition to the Grand Central workshop Tom and Lisa are offering an optional workshop before the Grand Central shoot to help you understand your camera and how to take the multiple, bracketed exposures needed to create HDR images. They will also be offering a second optional workshop after the Grand Central shoot to demonstrate Photomatix, the most popular HDR processing software. The optional workshops are $20 each.
