Tops in Connecticut 2016 Judging

The Tops in CT 2016 judging is complete. We received 636 images from 107 Connecticut photographers for judging. Of the 636 images, 101 were accepted into the show including 13 medal winning images. The 101 accepted and medal winning photographs will be organized into the Tops in Connecticut 2016 program and shown at the CAP Dinner on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden, CT 06517. This will be the only time to view the photographs and hear the commentary on this exceptional work by Connecticut photographers. Judging from the quality of the images selected it will be an outstanding show. Additional details about the dinner will be distributed via e-mail and on this blog closer to the date of the dinner. Be sure to put April 29th on your new 2017 calendar to save the date.

Judges

We had three outstanding judges from the Springfield, MA, area.

Paul Deegan, APSA, MNEC, operated his own wedding/portrait business for over twenty-five years while maintaining membership in the Professional Photographers of America (PPofA), Photographic Society of America (PSA)  and the Springfield Photo Society (SPS) where he held the positions of newsletter editor, VP of prints, Pres. of the club and chairman of the Springfield clubs’ PSA International. He was a vice president of New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) for twenty-two years and lectures throughout New England on photographic subjects of portraiture, travel, commercial, nature, printing, digital and black & white photography and creation of multi-media presentations.   He presents programs on various topics  around New England, has judged PSA international exhibits, camera club exhibits and conducts workshops, including workshops on judging exhibits.

Keven Fay is a life-long photographer with an extensive collection of photographs from his hikes throughout New England, as well as many of the great National Parks of the western United States. Kevin is currently President of the Springfield Photographic Society and is a former officer of the New England Camera Club Council.  He regularly exhibits his work in club exhibitions and his photography has appeared in various calendars and photography contests.

Barbara Krawczyk, EPSA, is president of the Westfield Camera Club and has been on the board of the Springfield Photographic Society for a number of years.  She enjoys judging and entering PSA sponsored photographic exhibitions, currently focusing on the Monochrome class of the Projected Image Division.  She currently holds a Galaxy 6 in the PID Color class.  She says of her photography: “I specialize in not specializing.  I am always seeking new challenges and practicing new styles of photography.”  Barb has recently completed a very popular color print show about her Cuba travels.
