FINAL REMINDER: Courtesy Enrollment for a CAP Member to Attend the 2015 NECCC Summer Conference

Every year NECCC allows each member club to select one member to attend the next NECCC Summer Conference with a free registration fee. CAP is a member of NECCC allowing us to select one of our members to receive this complementary registration fee. The important requirements to be selected are:

  • The person selected must be a member of CAP with his/her dues paid.
  • The person selected must be as least 18 years old as of July 1, 2015.
  • The person selected must have never attended the NECCC Summer Conference.

Approximately one month ago we sent out a blog posting to the membership that this opportunity was available. So far no one has applied! Now we are at the deadline. Any CAP member who is interested in being considered for this courtesy enrollment should contact Antoinette Gombeda (agombeda@optonline.net) today. Send Antoinette your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. If more than one person is interested, Antoinette will select the recipient by drawing a name from a hat.

Remember, you must send your name and information to Antoinette Gombeda. She will take care of sending the required information to NECCC by the March 15, 2015, deadline. Also, remember that the courtesy enrollment is only for the registration fee; the lucky CAP member will still be responsible for his/her own transportation, housing, and meal expenses.

Members of the Connecticut Association of Photographers who entered the Greater Lynn International Salon did very well. As a club CAP scored second with 342 points compared to 343 points for the Merrimack Valley Camera Club. The third place club was Gateway Camera Club with 333 points. The club score is the sum of the scores received by the 7 highest scoring photographers who entered from the club. Twenty eight clubs competed for the club award including many from outside the United States such as China, Iran, Australia, England, Denmark, Wales, Japan, and India. CAP will receive a $200 prize for its second place finish.

Four members of the club won special awards in the competition:

  • Catherine Thiem won an Honor Award;
  • Tom Cuchara won an Honor Award;
  • Matthew Collen won the Best Child Medal; and
  • Lisa Cuchara won the Best Still Life Medal and an Honor Award.

Congratulations to our members who won these special awards.
